About Turose

Turose is a unique shoppe located in the heart of Columbia County, NY. We offer a delightful selection of high quality toys, gifts, games, books and art, craft, and school supplies that support Waldorf Education. We are committed to supplying naturally (plant-dyed) fibers to Waldorf schools and initiatives, homeschoolers, artists, and crafts people. Our web pages contain a fraction of the items that we carry in our store.

We have a wide variety of handmade items from around the world imported from some "fair trade" organizations. We also carry many locally produced items, such as dolls, jewelry, felted toys, hats, silk scarves, and wooden toys. Some wooden toys are made by Hawthorne Valley School teachers, parents, and friends to benefit HVS. Doll cradles, doll furniture, swords & shields, play stands and rainbow houses are among the items often available. We also carry commercially dyed Lamb's Pride yarn from the Brown Sheep Company, English Mohair Yarn, Pearl Cotton #3 & #5, and Silk Ribbon, all available in many colors.
